Arts Networking Dinner: Speakers Biographies

Anne Miller

Anne Miller is an authority on creativity and innovation. She is director of The Creativity Partnership, providing consulting, workshops and management training for some of Europe's most successful organisations. These include the NHS, Ernst and Young, Rolls-Royce, Bayer, Smith and Nephew, Sainsbury's and Procter and Gamble. She also lectures on executive education programmes at several leading academic institutions, including the Judge Business School and Chalmers University (Sweden). Her work focuses on management training, culture change programmes, workshops and innovation events.

She has a degree in engineering, over 20 years experience in R&D and 39 patents for products ranging from power tools to medical products. Many of these are now in production. In 1988 she was one of the founders of the UK's leading independent technology innovation organisation, TTP Group www.ttpgroup.com. Here she played a key role in establishing the creative culture and ran the Innovative Engineering Sector. This involved recruiting and managing a team of highly creative engineers, developing innovative products for many of the world's leading companies.

She founded The Creativity Partnership www.tcp-uk.co.uk in 2000.

David Francis

David Francis is Dartington’s new Director of Arts.Dartington is delighted to announce the appointment of David Francis, as the new Director of Arts at Dartington.David Francis said about his appointment, “There is no doubt that Dartington is an important national centre of creativity, learning and research, with a hugely committed creative community at its heart‘. ‘As Director of Arts I am looking forward to the opportunity to work in such a highly creative and beautiful region, with a team whose expertise and practice covers many different art forms, in a context which will allow me to engage directly with a very broad range of artists, participants and audiences.

It is a particularly exciting time to be joining Dartington, with new opportunities ahead to develop its profile as a centre of excellence for the development of new work.”

David Francis is currently the Project Manager for Sound and Music – a new, national organisation in the contemporary music sector. As well as looking after the emergent Sound and Music, David is also Senior Producer for Arts Council England’s Contemporary Music Network (CMN), an organisation dedicated to producing tours of contemporary music in the UK.
